UPC customers - can you access the following site?

I've noticed that some sites are slow to load - often I have to re-try sites that fail to load.

This site however either refuses to load or, if I'm able to get onto the homepage, cannot access any other pages or use the checkout function

    http://www.tvtrade.ie

I've tried this on multiple PCs, browsers & OS.

Any UPC customers out there who are experiencing the same problem?

Seems to work fine for me, I've added stuff to the cart also. No problem and it's pretty snappy, too. Have you any weird configuration in your router or specified custom DNS servers?

Do a trace route. In Windows go to the command prompt and type in:
    tracert tvtrade.ie

    Paste or screen-shot you results?

    Working here too.

Try putting 80.93.29.140 in your browser, this is the address of the site in question.

If this loads for you, it could be a matter of changing your dns settings.

    Here's the traceroute

    C:\Users\imadethebbc>tracert tvtrade.ie
    Tracing route to tvtrade.ie [80.93.29.140]
over a maximum of 30 hops:
    1 10 ms 11 ms 28 ms 188.141.xx.x <<< my router WAN IP
    2 23 ms 13 ms 12 ms 188.141.126.1
    3 12 ms 12 ms 29 ms 84.116.238.50
    4 10 ms 12 ms 20 ms to-inex-dub-bdtn-gw.digiweb.ie [194.88.240.22]
    5 * * * Request timed out.
    6 * * * Request timed out.
    15 ^C

I had my router DNS set to open dns but changed it back to the ISP DNS to see if that made a difference. Restarted router and still not possible to access http://www.tvtrade.ie

I've also tried http://80.93.29.140 with no success.

My network chops are pretty basic so any suggestions as to what might be going on are welcome. I'm guessing it's that digiweb.ie line right ?

Seems to be a Letshost.ie server that's using Digiweb IP space. Works fine on BT/ESAT.

188.? I've never seen that subnet with UPC before. It could be a network issue in your area or bad routing from your area. Have you got neighbors you can ask or anyone you know within a few KM that has UPC?

What I would suggest is that if you did ask around and everyone else in your area can access the site that your modem/router itself could be at fault. If everyone else cannot access it any better than you, then it's time to call UPC as they're the only ones who can possibly help from that point.

Great way of advertising and getting hits to a website. :D

Maybe I should ask for a discount.

I can access it on the same PC/OS/Browser in my office.

Thanks for the replies - I'm going to see if I can investigate further because there might be an underlying issues I should try to get fixed.
