That's my point. in theory, Carrick goes down, we score the pen (lol) and we play the rest of the game against the sub goalie and nine other men. So staying down is technically preferable. Not sure what else can be done about it, though, apart from go down easily.

I'm a big Nani fan, so this isn't a knee jerk reaction, but the uproar over that is not just because he missed a pen.

It's because his temporary form has been absolutely dire for the last month. He's done very little right while on the pitch.

I know he will turn it around and lots on here will be back to loving him, but jesus, he is bloody infuriating when he is like this.

Don't mind taking him off tonight, but like Rooney, Nani is a player who has to play his way into form, I think it is quite obvious that he was given the penalty tonight to give him the chance to get his first goal of the season, to give him the boost that comes with that. He fcuked that up royaly.

Put in a decent corner for RVP to complete his hattrick and steal 3 points not too long ago, he will come good if he gets played but I am not saying he is playing well tonight, I already said at half time, both he and Val have underperformed.
