First Build

hi guys,

just getting around to physically building myself a pc for the first time. ive got a fair whack of experience in maintaining and repairing them, but never actually building from scratch. basically im looking for advice that will help me cut a few quid off my current build, listed below, and point out the countless things ive no doubt forgotten about!

basically i want to build a machine that i'm not going to need to upgrade for the next 5-6 years. i don't game on PC (but i might with a new computer), and the bulk of my use would be for audio production, video editing and graphic design. i've got 3 HDs in my current rig that i would like to take into the new one, leaving a single HD in that old machine which ill then probably set up as a file server at my office. ive also got a graphics card (ge force 8800 gt - like i said, i dont really game), a couple of monitors, a sound card, HUIDs etc already, so i just need the actual stuff for the new computer

so if anyone could recommend cheaper alternatives to anything above that would do a comparable job for what im looking for, or just offer some feedback on what ive put together for the build that would be fantastic!

Are you based in Ireland? The links you've posted are all priced in dollars..if you are based in Ireland then for full builds if advise hardwareversand.de it's prob the cheapest..

In the build firstly get the 3770k not the 3770 as you posted..it means it has an unlocked multiplier so paired with the Asrock extreme 4 z77 you can overclock the CPU easily.. Just add an afternarked coller, maybe not now but in the future you can to squeeze more juice when it becomes a bit slow

Also you could get away with 550w psu (the super flower amazon plus 550w Is recommend here by most people) if you are not planning on going Sli or crossfire.. If you are then 700w would be fine..

do you really need 32GB of ram?

Also I'd add an SSD either samsung 830 or crucial m4 128GB for roughly €100 will speed up every aspect of the system!!
