    6 Hour demo on EA Access soon, not sure what day.

    But I will be giving that a try, and then wait for it to be cheap I think.

    I always get stung on Bioware titles, they drop in price something savage a few weeks after release. So I will wait for a good price this time.

    Looking forward to next week after reading these, Dragon Age 2 was such a misstep in the series, so it is good to see it back on track.

    Dragon Age: Inquisition is BioWare's reaffirmation of what it's capable of delivering. It's a gorgeous game on an epic scale. Rich in character and story, it creates a fantasy world with plausible social rules you can get lost in. It makes you feel that you aren't just exploring a new world, but helping shape it at various levels of society. Inquisition sets the bar for what a blockbuster RPG should be.

    Oh, and after everything is said and done, make sure to stay following the credits.

    While BioWare is well known for their strong role-playing games, it’s perplexing how they were able to reach this level of quality with Dragon Age: Inquisition. It’s one of the most overwhelming experiences on the market, containing not only the best character development found in any RPG, but an open world that’s actually polished. The artistic and visual fidelity help with the immersion, but it’s the branching, player driven storyline and exquisitely layered combat system that creates something special. Even with the staggering amount of dialogue and lore, newcomers to the franchise will have no trouble hopping right in, while old school fans will undoubtedly grin at the various call backs to past events. There’s even an enjoyable small multiplayer mode to participate in that’s entirely separated from the main campaign. Like a good hundred hour long novel that never lets up, Dragon Age: Inquisition is so engrossing you won’t be able to put it down.

    This is the astounding scope I referred to above. It's no longer as simple as how your choices affect your small band of adventurers — though that can vary quite a lot as well. Dragon Age: Inquisition puts the fate of the world in your hands in a way that few role-playing games have done before. And even after another 80 hours devoted to it, it's a world I cannot wait to return to in whatever BioWare does next. I don't know what higher praise I could give.

This isn't just the RPG I've been waiting for years, it's the big comeback that BioWare needed.

    Inquisition's characters and world, on the other hand, recall the grand gestures of the original Dragon Age, even though the game as a whole is so structurally different to its predecessors. It offers the thrill of discovery and the passion of camaraderie. It features a glee club called The Sing-Quisition, and a dwarf with writer's block. It establishes connections with its world in big ways and small, with the sight of a titanous temple and the smirk of an Orlesian commander in love. Dragon Age: Inquisition is a wonderful game and a lengthy pilgrimage to a magical world with vital thematic ties to one we already know.

    Despite the small issues with the horses and the lack of items players can buy from merchants, I can still safely say that Dragon Age: Inquisition is the best console RPG I have ever played. The beautiful graphics grabbed me, the detailed characters reeled me in, and the open areas and numerous quests made me fall in love with the game. Overall, I spent around 55 hours on the game, and while I only recently finished the main story line, I still have many more side quests that I can play. If you’re an RPG fan,you owe it to yourself to play Inquisition, and somehow, I don’t think you’ll regret it.

    Inquisition is a Schrodinger’s Goldilocks kind of a game: too big and just right at the same time...The main campaign is more interested in telling you how great you are than letting you prove it, and combat feels designed for a game half this size. But if you have been working for the Inquisition for that long, hopefully by then you will be too busy discovering and exploring to care that much.

Having played well over 100 hours, I'm still finding things to do, working on my multiplayer characters, and plotting another playthrough to handle things a bit differently. Inquisition is a triumph and proves that despite some missteps along the way, BioWare hasn't lost its touch.

    That’s the beauty of Dragon Age: Inquisition, you play how you want and there is so much to do, you feel like a kid at a candy store. You want to sample everything no matter how long it takes. I'd go as far to say that this is the RPG the current-generation of consoles has been waiting for. This past year's wait was more than worth it.

    Despite this and its shaky start though, Inquisition does come together into a very worthy Dragon Age sequel that never stopped being compelling once it had the chance to build up its momentum. To some extent the quieter moments throughout even help to amplify the bigger quests and more dramatic plot points, while the free choice of where to spend your attention afterwards makes for a refreshingly open RPG that's still focused on the story it's telling - one that goes from strength to strength as the stakes ramp up and the war for Thedas begins.

    Dragon Age: Inquisition creates a massive, vibrant world on a scale far greater than its predecessors, and does an excellent job of making you feel in command. The heart of this game rests with its characters, who keep you invested in the action.

    I’ve had a great time leading the Inquisition. It’s unusual to be able to look back at a game like this and have such fine memories, despite being so underwhelmed by its opening hours.     Dragon Age: Inquisition isn't just a return to form, it exceeds expectations across the board. It is better than both Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II, building off the mechanics and structure that made each game a success. Thedas is quickly becoming the gaming world's Middle-earth, due to the outstandingly rich lore and narrative of Inquisition. The politics and conflicts between the races, the castes, the empires, and good and evil are impeccably well-defined, but shared in a natural manner through casual conversation that lends itself to both empathy and excitement.

    Cheat Code Central - 3.8/5

    Inquisition will most likely suffer the same fate as its predecessors. It’s a fun game that will probably never achieve a broad fan base, but there will be those that love the game and will go to great lengths to defend it with rabid aggression. All told, I was expecting more but I’m not really that surprised. I had fun and that’s what counts.

    So what's the combat like in Dragon Age?

    From looking at videos it looks quite tactical and their is a tactical view. It's not turn based is it?

    I'd rather something similar to Elder Scrolls.

    Kind of tempted tpo play through the first one again and never played the second one since I heard it was fairly lacklustre. Anyone know if the second game is skippable. Am I missing out on anything major/enjoyable?

    Will my character from DA:O be importable when I get around to playing this??

    A developer/publisher of an AAA game allowing reviews out a week before release must nearly be unprecedented these days. They must have a lot of faith in their product.

    It's been cooking for a while. The difference between a rushed product and one that has been given a few years to develop is fairly stark. And judging by the review scores their confidence is warranted.

    My fears about day 1 DLC remain ever present but I love me some dragon age, I'm sure I'll enjoy it regardless.

    It couldn't have been any worse than DA2 and they had to clear their name and try and get some credibility back. That's why I reckon with the early reviews. I wasn't even going to look at this game after DA2 until the reviews today. I had this written off since it was first announced.

    Same here, likely my favourite setting. Agree about the day one DLC; Mass Effect's From Ashes DLC was nonsense - it should have been a part of the main game.

    While there's no denying it was a big step down from Origins, 2 did add a lot to the lore, continued the story and was enjoyable enough considering how rushed it felt. It suffered badly in comparison to Origins and the older Bioware games but I still thought it was about a 7 (even with the recycled dungeons).

    Well the reviews are not swaying me, anything I've seen of this so far has not sold me either. Still have a bad taste in my mouth from DA2 and ME series.

    This could well be a major return to form but I'll be holding off until the dust has settled on it and more balanced and reflective opinions are formed I think.

    Well I think you should get it because it's great. In fact I think you should get two just in case one of them doesn't work.

    DA2 was a good game. It just wasn't Origins. That's not a crime and people need to stop carrying on like it was "Big Rigs over the road racing" or something.

    And with regards to ME, it may have had a horribly written ending but the last piece of a pie being stale doesn't mean the rest of the pie wasn't delicious.

    Perspective please.

    Yeah but the last piece is gonna leave a sour taste in your mouth.

    I've never played a DA game and I'm really looking forward to this. Looking for a game I can put a load of hours into ;)

    EA Access subscribers can now downloaded the game for their 6 hour trial. Download weighs in at 41.6GB. Can't wait to get stuck into this, after the trial I will have to wait until a week after release though as I have Eirtakon that weekend then I am off to Budapest until the next Saturday.

    Nope, EA Access is an Xbox One subscription service that costs €25 a year, which gives you free EA games, trials of upcoming EA titles and 10% off all EA items on the Xbox Marketplace.

    I wouldn't want a trial personally anyway, as it won't have the full feel and you will just end up repeating what you did anyway.

    You continue from where you left off when you buy it, it's the normal game with a time limit.

    Indeed it is the full game with a 6 hour time limit. When you buy the game you can continue on from where you stopped, and if you are buying the game digitally it is already preloaded and ready to go for launch.
