Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Wireless sync

I have a 4s and I was under the impression that with the iOS5 once the laptop was on and both the phone and laptop were connected to the same network that I should be able to sync the phone without having to connect it using the cable. This doesn't happen. iTunes never picks up the phone unless it's plugged in to the laptop.

Is there a setting I need to change?

(and yes, I know iOS6 is out today anyway, but this has just been bugging me for ages!)

In itunes you have to enable wifi sync and on the phone aswell, the setting in itunes is under the summary tab and look in general settings on the iphone

You need to connect with cable the first time to set up the wifi sync, after that it can be initiated from the phone any time.
As it usually wants the phone to be connected to power (it doesn't have to though) I just sync over cable anyway as I always charge from pc.

Ok, thanks for the help. I think at some point I had switched off the automatic sync and forgotten I did it! ha

Can I ask another stupid question now? The photos on my iPhone (the ones taken using the phone), how do I get them off the phone onto the laptop so that I can delete them off the phone?

    Thanks

In XP, when you plug it in the MS Photo and Scanner Wizard should start automatically when it senses the phone (believing it's a camera). You can use this to transfer and delete the pics from the phone.
