    Hi
I used 222 units (a very modest amount of electricity) over the last 2 months and was charged 63 euro.
This feels like i'm being gouged.

I'm urban, using a 24 hr meter, and with Electricity Ireland.

A third of the cost is a standing charge of about 20 euro (incl. VAT).
    What is this.
The rest is 36 euro for the 222 units and some PSO charge and VAT on top of those.
    Does this sound right.

Are Airtricity or Bord Gais any better with their standing charges.
    Thanks.
