Apologies if this is listed somewhere else but can anybody clarify what qualifies as a 'transaction'. In light of AIB and BOI starting to charge for transactions I am looking at my banking options and want to be clear as to what constitutes a transaction:
    1. Lazer / Debit Card transactions
    2. transferring money between accounts in same bank
    3. transferring money between accounts in different banks
    4. direct debits
    5. standing orders
    6. topping up online eg phone
    7. ATM

    Thanks in advance

Something done in a branch over the counter is also a transaction, i.e. cash, cheque deposit.
