    Didn't have that problem on my own, have a look at the setting in settings/applications/people/filter my contact list and see if something in there needs attention.... it may only be displaying people whose contact she has linked to FB, most of whom probably don't have their numbers up.

    All you'll see in the People hub is the names in your contact list, you have to press the contact and then select which of there numbers you want to call,text,email etc...

    Try going into setting -> email+accounts, then long press on the google account and select synchronise from the pop up menu.

    If that doesn't work, try deleting the account and adding it again.

    If that doesn't work try exporting the google contacts and importing them into your girlfriends MSN live account and try syncing that way.

    If that doesn't work you may need to do a hard reset :(
