+1, I used to eat an unholy amount of these when on holidays in the US, and then a few years ago I realised they had become available in Ireland. That was the best day of my life.

Ben & Jerry's cookie dough, with a few mini reese's peanut butter cups, mmmmmm.

I don't like the taste of it. Can't say why. The chocolate is greasy, the biscuits are too sweet and the normal sweets (jelly fizzy yokes) are the same, I suppose. Not a fan of them anyway. Their cakes are really horrible. Everything tastes like it could survive a nuclear holocaust. I've a fairly refined taste in sweeties though.

Given that a large percentage of the candy made/sold in the US is also sold internationally (like in Ireland, for example); I don't think you'd have to ask the Americans.

Maybe your dislike isn't of candy?

There are exceptions (occasionally glorious exceptions) but a great deal of the food to come out of the US is just vile, their 'candy' is perhaps the worst offender. Hershey's chocolate is crap, twinky's are down right frightening and a lot of the rest is just too upsetting to think about.
