With the surge in country rock & CHR formats (Which arent that good),do you think the 18-34 crowd is listening to 70's-80's formats more now?

    Your thoughts & observations smile.gif

Just curious, what would you define as 70's-80's formats?

Sorry it wasn't clear what you meant. I don't think the 18-34 crowd are listening to 70's-80's music anymore or less than they were 5 or 10 years ago, there's no clear evidence to indicate any change. For example there was just as much country rock at the start of the 00's as there is now. The way I see it there seems to be more people looking to the late-80's/early-90's for inspiration in the past 5 years or so and this is evident in a lot of indie/alternative bands and in underground hip-hop.

Ya sadly i think HIP HOP has taken over RAP (I love RAP but i cant stand "Todays" hip hop) -- Pure trash!

I have been listening to alot of TRADITIONAL country music the last few months.. MUCH BETTER than this new style of country music! (Country rock)

Hip-hop has taken over rap? But rap is one of the four pillars of hip-hop along with turntablism, hip-hop dance and graffiti. There's a lot of good underground hip-hop/rap in recent years like EL-P and Dalek who you should check out. There's no point looking in the charts or listening to the radio for good music.
