Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Following on from this thread,

I've noticed our local school annual class photo has started to follow along similar pushy tactics, take a whole bunch of photos then offer them in a number of confusing combinations of sizes and there usually one or two only available in the more expensive combinations. Now obviously the parent committee and school is the way to address this. But personally I don't like this hard sell approach.

Obviously the photographer has to make money on the deal and the argument is made they don't make enough to make it worthwhile just taking basic photos. But honestly the sales ptich put me off the photos. I'd really be curious does it gain them more sales in the long run. If they keep doing it that way, it will suggest it does work, if they don't that tells its own story.

I reckon the togs are making a real killing on these school shoots, with maybe a few hundred captive customers at a time.

I had a bad experience with 1st Class Photos where we ordered and paid for communion shots but never received them. When I rang up, I got a snotty reply basically saying that it was tough luck. I pointed out that the files were probably still in existence but the print out was overlooked - with a hope of getting them posted out to me. The person said they didn't have the time to check through hundreds of files and that the files were probably already deleted. Super satisfied customer there.

I had to get a refund through the school. That company will not be getting any further business from me - and looking back, it's my own shots that are now gracing the walls of the living room rather than the posed stuffiness I have previously paid for.

its disgusting... they lure you in with their props and promise of a fantastic cutesie pic of your little one but the quality is sh*t, i had ones done of my daughter last year and the cut her hand out of two of the pics... not good enough for a "professional" company, i don't even think the photographers on site are qualified!
