    It was a chilly one last night. Came out of work and had to use the ice scraper for the first time this year. Not sure what temp it got down to but car was showing 2c at 7am. (Kildare).

    Woah thats early for it.

    Latest reports from met.ie have zero at the mount dillon automatic, and 1 degree at Dublin Airport and Grange.

    Noticed a heavy frost on the car alright when I was booting letting the cat out about 4am.

    I had 2.7C in a sheltered corner overnight (so probably about 1.5C in the open, I think), and there was a good frost on cars, roofs, and grass at 07:30 this morning. I have to admit I hauled myself out of bed and went for a bit of a walk in it; I'm very fond of frosty mornings.

    It's by far the earliest frost we've had since we moved here in 2008.

    technically we already had lots of frosty nights in January/february/march this year, but we'll let you away with it this time ;)

    Twas not the first icy morning of 2012, that was in January 2012 ;)!
