Auctioneers fees, is this true

My house is with 2 auctioneers and has been for 4 years now:mad: and ive had at least 15 viewings in that time and ive been told by a friend that when it does sell, i will have to pay up to the auctioneers for all the call outs plus the 2% i agreed with all them years ago. I've sold three houses in my time and have never paid for advertising or for any other extras.

The selling agents did mention advertising at the outset but my attitude was, and remains, that there was enough of a margin in the selling fee to cover their costs.

On each occasion I agreed a fee of 1.5%, there is nothing sacrosanct about a 2% fee which some agents will look for.

There are enough competent agents in the business to ensure competition – haggle for the best deal that you can get.
