Celeron G550+ASRock H61M-HVS compatible out of the box?

    I see on ASRocks website that only from Bios firmware 2 onwards does it support the G550.
    Does anyone know whether the MB ships from HWVS with this version or if its an older firmware will it accept the processor and allow me to apply a firmware upgrade to it?

    It looks like it's much the same as the older G530 etc aside from the higher clock speed. It should work as long as those are supported, which they should be.

    I'm just concerned that I would need a compatible cpu(which I don't have) in order to upgrade the firmware for the G550 to work.
    But as you say it just looks like the 530 with 200mhz speed bump.
