Slow speeds on smart telecom

    Hi,

    I am a smart telecom DSL customer. I have a 24 meg package but recently I've suddenly had an issue whereby I'm onlygetting about 1 meg down all the time.

    I've tried:
    - Connecting via lan cable rather than wireless
    - Factory reset of my router and set up from scratch

    I had a very unsatisfactory call with somebody from smart who wouldn't progress the call any further as I didn't have a phone to check whether there was a dialtone..... (surely if I'm getting some internet connection this check must be redundant. He did say he checked things at their end and everything looks fine and that it could be related to the fact I am using my own router...... Which just smelled of passing the buck tbh.

    Any suggestions as they are now closed for the weekend?

    I ran my modems diagnostics (not sure how much to read into them though):
    >> Testing Ethernet LAN connection ...
    PASS

    >> Testing ADSL Synchronization .
    PASS

    >> Testing ATM OAM segment ping ...
    FAIL

    >> Testing ATM OAM end to end ping ...
    FAIL

    >> Testing ATM OAM F4 segment ping ...
    FAIL

    >> Testing ATM OAM F4 end to end ping ...
    FAIL

    >> Ping Primary Domain Name Server .
    PASS

    >> Ping www.yahoo.com ...
    PASS
