Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

QUESTION FOR MOD - How do we do that? Is there a way of resizing pictures without having to save them somewhere first, edit them and then paste them as attachments? I'd honestly love to know... Thank you and apologies for the interruption.

I normally save them to my hardrive and reduce them through MS paint. There is probably an easier way though.

Ah ok, fair enough... I was hoping for a trick/shortcut for resizing the pictures straight from the links, a bit like we can do for text size, but alas...

    Anyway, thanks for that!

You can do it in imgur. Tick the box under "edit" before you choose "upload".

Do you mean I can edit pictured before I upload them to imgur, that I can edit pictures I download from imgur, or that I can use imgur to resize images from other sites?

Choose an image (URL or from PC/Phone etc..)
    For example
    These Big Boobies

Go to imgur.com and choose 'upload images'.

Paste image URL and the image will appear beneath with an option to tick edit box/
Tick the box and then choose upload.

Resize to the size you want - Apply and save.

    Small Boobies

    :)

Overall, I like this. However, there are two crucial errors.

    1. "After while, crocodile" should be "In a while, crocodile", and
    2. "Chow, chow, brown cow" (WTF is that even supposed to mean?) should be "How now, brown cow".

But "How now, brown cow" is usually a greeting, so I guess it's been adapted to fit the theme

Maybe it's supposed to be Ciao chào Brown Cow?

There's a couple of them that are pushing it though a little bit. Like "Chop chop, lollipop". Surely that just translates as "Hurry up" one would think. Although, that's probably the only other one that's seems as it's just on the list to make up the numbers.

    Allyall wrote: »

That could be what it is actually. The picture must have been created in America, because only they would spell it that way! :pac:

Little bit of extra confusion, she calls him David - who is Norman? Is he someone from some TV show I've not seen thus giving me no context?

    ^^^
Audi Galway ran a 'Like & Share' competition on Facebook to win use of a car for the Bank Holiday weekend. The competition was deleted and the winner was announced (May Lydon) but other entrants noted May didn't have a Facebook account. One was then set up for her after the competition ended but allegedly the original owner of the FB account works for Audi Galway. Cue a load of convoluted explanations from Audi Galway that the real winner was actually her son David but he wanted his mother to have the car.

Mods - can we please have a new photoshop compettion?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,358 ✭✭✭Into The Blue

I've never posted in the photoshop thread, so excuse my butting in, but why do ye need mods to start the competition?

Better for the winner (most thanks after a week) of the previous comp to pick the subject of the next?

Simply put, we're the only ones who can move posts to and from both the Photoshop Competition thread, and the Suggestion thread.

I've opened a new competition now. I must say, there was a fierce scarcity in suggestions for it, with the winner (and also second placed poster) in the last competition, Corvus Maximus, being the only poster to make a suggestion.

Anyway, the new competition, along with last week's winning entries, can be found here.

The suggestion thread for the next competition can be found here.

The news channel blurred the woman's face out when interviewing her, but forgot to do it when she was in the background during the man's interview, thus revealing her identity.

Thanks for that, I feel a bit stupid now!!

I thought it was one of those 'unnecessary censorship' things as it looks like something dirty in the first pic
