Even if this whole episode comes to nothing I've been enjoying the plentiful eye candy on show.

This would be pretty serious! This would almost be too much!

18Z GFS in deep FI shows a 3 day period of constant heavy snow/blizzards that would probobably be the biggest snow event in Ireland in about 100 years, maybe even more severe.

If this was hour 100 hours away there would be steam rising off the weather forum under the strain of all the posting/refreshing. :P

No doubt it will be gone on the 0Z though!

Is that the main kind of scenario we are looking for? With the high above Greenland and the likes of a low from the west? :s

The link above shows it best , but there would be copious , epic , unreal amounts of snow if it were to verify but it wont

GFS still pushing hard eh? Like the lads have said. Don't go by the models on this one. Just a surface pressure alone from the GFS and ECMWF show how different they are. The charts couldn't be much more different.

This is a wait and see game now, it's fun all the same. Gould luck to the south, Cork and Kerry, I fear you may not see anything :P

...or we could be the recipients of a big dumping from any channel lows a la 10 Jan 2010 when we got 12hrs solid of snow and there was nothing north of Munster! Being on the periphery can sometimes be a good thing.....

Is this fantasy island or fantasy continent?! Some of those charts are absolutely off the wall, even by FI standards!
