Collecting Plastic 2L etc Bottles for Pocket Money

Ye know the old woman that goes around the hotels, and usually has a cup of tea and collects mainly what looks like 2L plastic bottles. She often has 3 or 4 bags of these and I guess is getting a few washers for them somewhere but who would pay for them. The mind boggles:D
