Well if you believe in an afterlife then by definition you are open to the idea that the dead continue to exist in some form. Although I do not believe that myself.

I stick to the theory that it's some form of replay brought on by certain conditions or circumstances. In fact in that case it's quite possible the ghost might actually be an image of a person still alive!

Millions of people believe that Jesus died and then re-appeared. If so it had to be an apparition. And surely an apparition is a ghost?.

Therefore millions of people believe in ghosts.

(Just thought I'd throw this into the mix.)

Your understanding of the beliefs of Christianity are clearly entirely wrong.

People believe that he was resurrected. Educate yourself. Pathetic analogy. Comparing Christianity to your believing in Ghosts is just nonsense to the point of being offensive.

Please don't be so rude as to tell me to "educate myself". That is being offensive.
No comparision was being made. It was just a light hearted posting.

Don't take yourself so seriously, you'll enjoy life more.

Oh please. Another one who takes things too seriously.
I'm not a believer but I am an avid reader, and I have a bible in my house, and I've read most of the new testament and quite a lot of the old.
This is more than can be said for most people so please lighten up.:)

You think I actually own that thing? FFS what do you think I do for a living, Columbian importation or something?? :pac:

I have it on good authority that you have a secret underground layer somewhere in Galway. And henchmen. Lots of henchmen.

You are just back tracking now. You did try to support a believe in the existance of ghosts by a belief in a crucified Jesus. If you did read (and pay attention to) the gospels of the new testament you would see that it said Jesus was resurrected and Jesus even told Thomas to reach out and touch his wounds indicating he was flesh and blood, not a ghost.

No need to tell people to lighten up who have shown a flaw in your argument as you weren't cracking a joke, but making a serious statement in support of the existance of ghosts. Thats a fairly childish rebuttal in an debate like this one. If you want people to lighten up to your post then tell a joke or post a humourous comparison or analogy instead.

I like Ezekiel 25:17 myself from the Movie Pulp Fiction

As for ghosts I remember that house in Laurel Park Newcastle back in 1995 had extreme paranormal activity, there was a really corny movie made about it too.

    I really must apologise.

With the exception of inisboffin, I never dreamt that so many people would take my earlier post so much to heart:confused:, and I certainly did not intend it to become a discussion on religion.

Please just take it in the "spirit" in which it was meant.

You've been reading the thread about the toilets at the end of O'Briens Bridge from a couple of years ago haven't you?

I too read it in a light hearted way, with a grain of truth tbh. I was agreeing less with the accuracy of the analogy and more with the sentiment of 'who can judge one belief so harshly, when another is so accepted.'

So by the nit picking arguments above, Zombies being real is a more accurate statement. And what about the holy ghost?
To say something is offensive seems off too after knocking someone *else's* belief system, whether scientifically based or not. I'd bet not all ghost slaggers here are atheists!

Would that have to mean he took pic of guy in photo too?
That its in another pic on his camera,
    Plus its digital,
So double exposure not possible unless its done with software on purpose ?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,741 ✭✭✭Irishgoatman

How about those who think it's been photoshopped or double exposure trying to duplicate it, or something similiar, and post it on here.

I, for one, would like to see if it's possible without highly specialised software.

Not sure why you sound so angry or feel the need for such colourful language, but if you can do it then please do so. That's all I was asking for.

Someone did it on page 2...

If you'll look again the third is hanging off the same bar that's supporting the other two.

Btw of course it's photoshop, I've taken about 1 minute to add a friend in the bottom left corner (don't have photshop but it's simple to add an opaque watermark to the original).

Sorry but that was so obvious which is why I didn't count it as a serious effort.

Seaneh said it could be done in 5 mins.
I assumed by that he meant one as good as the one we've been talking about all this time.

I would like him to put his money where his mouth is. ( and we'll take his word for how long it takes him).
