Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    I could be wrong but /thread doesn't quite compute for me.

    Im guessing the idea came from xml/html where you finish a section with </section>

    Shouldnt we say </thread>

    Sorry for the nerdiness.... Can anyone out-nerd me and explain?

    You really are a very angry man. It comes from HTML coding, eg. [/BODY] or Boards code, eg. [/QUOTE]

    /thread

    That's BBCode. </thread> is XML. Obey me, I know what I'm talking about.

    I'm assuming it denotes that a thread can be closed because the best post has been made. In HTML, I think the slash denotes the close of the command.

    Not a particularly witty answer for AH, but there you have it.

    Damn you MD, I was about to say that!

    This could get really annoying but-

    /*thread

    10 GOTO OP

    End of thread when the mod locks it.

    Just one of those annoying things that some people do when they've written what they think is a funny/definitive reply along with: 'Nuff said

    It seems people who use these forms of "punctuation" have no grip on reality either, hence these "/thread" or "'Nuff said" remarks usually come after a one word sentence which has little relevance to the OP

    'nuff said.

    The use of that phrase should warrant an immediate ban! :P
