This Sigmet has been issued for the North Atlantic Area. I presume it is just some sort of test and we don't have an eruption?

Little of significance to report from Hekla, in terms of volcanic tremor activity at least. Out of curiosity what does the SIGMET advise Su?

It says volcanic ash was observed at 1200UTC between FL200-350 (20,000-35,000 ft) within the given coordinates, and is forecast between same at 1800UTC.

I've never seen these broadcast before on mainstream aviation briefing services. Not sure what the reasoning behind issuing it was.

I have read that Iceland's Mantle Plume is becoming more active, this could cause more trouble for air travel, so the Iceland Met office with the help of the UK met office, run these models with different winds and so they can get ready.

Excuse the short answer, I was busy in work and I had seen the alert a few days ago.

Also Hekla has a est 60 minute count down, no EQ'S worth anything happens before the count down. Example of the 2000 eruption below
