found this thread going back to 07 http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055035920

its a pity i wasn't on boards back then, id have loved to have entered.
i wonder if someone would be interested in starting up another
species hunt here on boards in January. (with mods permission)

id like to start 1 up myself, but i don't think id have the time to go through all
the photos and keep the league table up to date.

the only problem is if we did start a species hunt, it would probably have to
be divided up into 2 separate category's, game/coarse, and sea angling.

the reason i put game and course together is because i don't think there would
be enough species in game angling.
decides there seems to be a bit of confusion on another thread about which
fish belong to course, and which belong to game.icon7.png

anyway its just an idea. i don't know if its been done here on boards before.
if someone were to start up a species hunt, id join.

That species hunt is still going. Its a yearly thing on the sea angling Ireland forum.
    Its quite big too.
Joined it myself a few years ago, but sadly moved country so cant continue! (I wasnt very good anyways!)

Would a "fish of the month" contest be better?

I'd like to give this a lash too. Not sure how it works tho?

Plenty of us I'm sure will be fishing over the winter too so it maybe wouldn't have to wait til January :)
