Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

Wondering can anyone shed some light on the above. There is a company who will be moving from a store space to a space in a department store and thus the staff positions will go from 20 to 8. How will the company go about this....will they offer everyone redundancy and allow people to reapply for the available positions or will they just move the manager and full-time staff over and get rid of all the last-inners?

I would also like to know if the manager is gauranteed a transfer no questions asked?

The process has to be fair and transparent or they could face claims for unfair selection for redundancy.

The company will probably offer voluntary redundancy to everyone and if 12 people don't accept it, then they will trim the numbers down manually.

You can't fire and rehire the staff, however they could bring everyone in for an interview and then make their redundancy decisions on that basis.

Everyone put on notice of respective redundancy together with information as to future position availability - consultations as to future appointments and/or interviewing for he future roles. This woud be quite usual to ensure a fair process. However, if the change involved a clear elimination of particular posts - eg no stock room posts as that function provided in house by department store as part of concession arrangement- the position might be clearer.
