I think racism is an issue in all countries.It should not be whether other countries are less or more racist than us. The question is how do we deal with it here?

Get rid of the old people. They're the most racist ones.

I personally don't buy into the whole multicultural "new irish" utopia. I think the status quo demographics are perfect the way they are.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind ethnic minorities or see them as inferior, I'll always be polite to everyone equally. But I'm just of the opinion that It wouldn't feel like Ireland If I woke up to the sight of just non_white, "new irish" for lack of a better word and no indigenous, white, celtic/viking stock irish people. And I also think many non racists would deny they would feel any different in that hypothetical situation too.

I suppose it's due to the fact I've grown up with 90 something % of traditionally, ethnic irish with surnames Mc, O', etc. Basically people who look, talks, act and relate to me.
Look at many of the african migrants who come here. It can't be said they aren't very insular or clannish too. Not that there's anything wrong with it. I think it's just how a lot of people are wired.

I have one of them mixed race ones with Jewish ancestry thrown in too, she's as mad as a box of frogs...... at the moment I'm receiving 'picture no sound'... because I forgot to empty the fuckin' dishwasher.

I'll learn her though , the fuckin' dishwasher will have a new resident shortly .. her dog.

I thought I was Caucasian? When did Irish become a race and not an ethnicity?
I'm confused now. Are travelers a separate race? What races are they up north? Do they all agree? Many questions and confusions.

I don't wanna lose our ronan keatingness to foreign peoples misty eyes. Its not great for our identity if they're lusting after say more of a North African instead, or a veritable Nikki Minaj o' treis with all the cultural baggage that ensues as irish.

As small rock, totally detatched we should just roll with what's expected.. perversely our greatest charm in other nations eyes is a type of Irish, white pride. and in these times if that goes, then we really won't have any other identity left
