Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,

My mother has a 4S and the battery is draining like nobodies business these days! I've done a full restore but it hasn't made any difference.

She is a light user, I have turned off a lot of the location services, etc. Push is disabled on her email account, only fetching hourly.

The phone is under warranty. I'm just wondering - has anyone sucessfully returned their phone to apple with a battery problem and got a replacement phone?

I don't want to go through the hassle of returning it only for them to send the phone back and say there's no problem with it.

I would ring them and ask what the story is. The may take it back and run a battery fitness test or something on it. Worth a shot.

AFAIK batteries aren't covered under warranty

Yes, I have returned one, under AppleCare nearly 2 years old, and they replaced it, no quibble. Batteries have, I think, up to 500 charge/discharge cycles, so should last more than 1 year.

Just rang Apple support and they confirmed that it's covered.

Sending it back to them next week and they are sending out a replacement. Happy days!

    From apple store site
    friendly manner.

iPhone Owners Your one-year warranty includes replacement coverage for a defective battery. You can extend your coverage to two years from the date of your iPhone purchase with the AppleCare Protection Plan for iPhone. During the plan’s coverage period, Apple will replace the battery if it drops below 50% of its original capacity. If it is out of warranty, Apple offers a battery replacement for $79, plus $6.95 shipping, subject to local tax. Apple disposes of your battery in an environmentally friendly manner.

Read it as battery not charging properly as there is an expected amount of capacity depletion over a year. Obviously not apples interpretation
