Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

? So far it's going to the way I said. Spurs got the 2nd, now watch for the Utd backlash. Possibly with 1 before half time.

    Backlash?

    We are been destroyed.

They will score before we will.

That's were a holding midfielder would have been handy for that goal .

utd finally getting what they deserve from a game this season, lets hope spurs can keep it up

United being tactically outclassed for the umpteenth time this season.

Lindegaard not exactly outstanding, either. Looked a bit flat footed for that second goal.

This is shocking so far from Utd,getting over run and dont look like making any chances either, this one up front will have to go
Scholes and Carrick are sitting too deep need to get Anderson or Cleverly on to push up and put pressure on the Spurs midfield because they are running the show and doing what they like with the ball

Said it last week, Giggs in midfield is makes things to slow.

Need an injection of pace in the midfield, and a serious engine. Andersson for Giggs ASAP.

Not to sound like a knee jerk reaction, but thats two in two that Giggs has looked laboured in the midfield. If we arnt going to trust Anderson or Clevelry then we are nackered, need injection in there, ASAP

I also think De Gea would have made a much better go of saving Bale's shot. I know it was hit across the keeper and was pretty accurate but had very little power. Just don't rate Lindegaard highly enough to have him as our main keeper.

The only hope we have is if someone ties Dembele's laces together.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,465 ✭✭✭supersean1999

the league cup team was better, more pace and bite

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,709 ✭✭✭✭Cantona's Collars

Haven't seen a midfield as slow since that episode of Father Ted.We move the ball forward so slowly it's unreal-all Spurs have to do is sit back, wait for a mistake then cut through us on the counter.

  • Registered Users Posts: 318 ✭✭val_jester

Lindegaard not exactly outstanding, either. Looked a bit flat footed for that second goal.

He always looks flat footed, most of the goals he concedes, you always get the impression that another keeper would have saved it. DDG would be right to feel like he has got a raw deal this season; one mistake, after a lot of good saves, and he is banished from the side.

Can we have a do-over and play the lineup from Wednesday instead?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,796 ✭✭✭✭Pudsy33

What the **** is with this long ball ****e we have resorted to? We have excellent ballplayers out there, ****ing use them!

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,347 ✭✭✭Quandary

    This is an embarrassment :(.

But not at all surprising given the starting 11.

What a signing Dembele would have been for us, but oh no, we have 2 midfielders closer to 40 than 30 who supply all the energy we need. Fcuking laughable.

At least bring Ando on in place of Giggs FFS. He had a good game against Newcastle midweek and might be able to offer some strength against Sandro and Dembele.

What's the bets Giggs stays on the field.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,825 ✭✭✭Mikeyt086

    Stone wall pen.

    Would have missed it anyway.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,975 ✭✭✭nkay1985

Could have been given alright. Nani does himself no favours though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,709 ✭✭✭✭Cantona's Collars

How can we attack at pace when we have 2 players heading for 40 & a midfielder who can't run & just passes the ball 5 yards sideways or backwards.
If anyone says "sure that's Carrick's job" can feck off.He has no drive in that midfield area.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,718 ✭✭✭upandcumming

Penalty. Never stonewall but a penalty. Very hard for ref to see though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,906 ✭✭✭✭PhlegmyMoses

Spurs get away with it. Ref couldn't see it tbf but the lino should have.

Fergie is going to throw strikers at this problem rather than making a tactical change. I hope Giggs is the player taken off.

Do the United midfielders all hate each other? Whenever Scholes has the ball, Carrick is nowhere to be seen to link up with him, and vice versa. This performance is embarrassing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,190 ✭✭✭✭IvySlayer

    Fergie is ANGRY!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,883 ✭✭✭smokedeels

Getting p1ssed on in midfield, never mind, our superfluous army of strikers are warming up.

    Painful to watch.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,153 ✭✭✭everdead.ie

Great first half fair enough Nani should of had a penalty but I imagine that'll be evened out at some stage in the game.

Wonder what the odds on a United 5-2 win is?

The United boys better be prepared for the hairdryer at halftime.

Some boos at half time-deserved in my opinion.

Rooney and Welbeck on, Giggs and Kagawa off.

Best we have seen from Kagawa was that game against Fulham, playing with Cleverly and Anderson that day suited him, high tempo quick passing, ever since that game Utd just cant seem to get him on the ball enough,he is making the runs but for some reason he isnt getting the ball.

St.Pepper = Boris Johnson. It finally all makes sense.

Slow. That's the word, isn't it? Take off Giggs, he's too slow and lacks so much energy, he should've retired during the summer if I'm honest. Put Kagawa out left, play Rooney up beside RVP, and maybe even put Anderson on to make up for the total lack of strength and energy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,785 ✭✭✭killwill

Outplayed and outmuscled nearly everywhere on the pitch. Last 10mins were an improvement but I see United conceding more here if the don't buck up.

Drop Giggs, put Kagawa on the left.
Bring on Rooney and play him behind RVP.
