Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This is actully nuts. Why cant apple just put this as stock in every Apple product?

$20 and good soldering skills can raise the quality of the iPod to rival a $1500 cd player.

Before you start thinking its easy though have a look at the resisitors!

Apple is falling behind others in sound quality and could do with a boost.

Perhaps a bit of an exaggeration - 2 capacitors do not a $1500 cd player make. For a start the losses from converting to MP3 wipes out most of the quality of the audio which cannot be recovered. At best the caps will remove any DC on the output signal which might eliminate some noise, but as a consequence may cut some of the bass frequencies depending on the impedance of the headphones/amp input stage.
