web pages slow-speedtest ok

    just today
    web pages are taking ages to load

    speedtest takes 30 seconds to start ping test

    when ping and download complete the time and speed are good

    80ms and 2.7mb for eircom 3 meg

    everything is wired to eircom router


    any idea what's up thanks??

    I find that speedtest.net ping results can be wrong. Open up cmd and typle "Ping google.com" and see what the results are.

    run a virus scan, could be malware or something like that slowing things up

    dunno how to copy and paste from windows
    average ping time 33ms,no data loss

    web pages are very slow on both pcs

    i have anti malware virus and firewall

    ping has never been as fast as 26ms?-but web pages are all slowest ever

    how can that be?

    Could be your DNS server is slow to respond to requests for websites ? What ISP are you with and have they reported any issues ?

    yeah, your ping time are a bit high but they should not be causing web pages to feel extremely slow to load.

    As the user above me suggested, you should try changing your DNS server. I suggest changing it to Google DNS.

    ive got open dns -could that be an issue?
    im with eircom-il chek on reported issues

    I've been having the same issue all day, also with open dns. Just reverted to default dns settings, everything is now fine.

    Try flushing your DNS resolver cache if you're using Windows.

    In the Command Prompt, type in:
    ipconfig /flushdns

    You could also try using Google's DNS if Open DNS is a problem and using the default servers is not ideal.
