Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,

Picked up a new iPhone 4 today and everything is working fine for me, except iMessages and text messages. When I send an iMessage, it's showing up for the receiver as my email address... when I go to settings etc, it tells me waiting for activation. When I go into send & receive, it's not giving me the option to choose my number. And ordinary text messages wont send at all.

Anyone able to shed any light? Thanks!!

    HI

Sorry Chewchew, I cant help you . But I did get my new iphone 4 today too and I was wondering if you or anyone could help me.
When I am in any screen be it web page or settings to exit out I ve been pressing the square button in the round groove below screen, is this correct?? I am afraid that all my screens are open some where eating battery and money!!

I know this might sound very stupid but is an imessage the same as a text on nokias. ?

Also where is msg inbox sent messages etc?

feel a bit silly at the moment

Try disabling iMessage and FaceTime and turn the phone off, turn it back on and enable them again

Yes that button under the screen is called the home button. Just press it once to leave an app and that's all you have to do. There is very few apps that will stay open like Skype etc but generally there's nothing to worry about

iPhone uses threaded messaging so there's no inbox or sent. Every message goes into a conversation with each contact, your sent messages is on the right and received is the left side of the screen

Are you on 3? If so, did you port from another network?

Nope I'm O2. Haven't changed network. I just checked it there and it's saying activation unsuccessful and to try again.

Are you on PAYG? There's a charge to activate it.

I'm bill, but only moved to bill yesterday from PAYG.

So I rang O2 this morning, as this was really baffling me (didn't have this issue with my 3GS) and for some reason my SMS were not activated, so they sorted that out for me and said I'd need to ring Apple re the iMessages. Anyways, When I checked the settings, the iMessages seemed to have sorted it's self out so thank god it's all fixed now. Thanks for your help! :)
