Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Kasımpaşa have reached a pre-agreement with Roy Keane, the former Manchester United player is set to become announced as the Istanbul side's new boss within the next 24 hours.

The Istanbul club fired former manager Metin Diyadin last week despite having ensured them promotion from the Bank Asya league last season.

Diyadin had an unlucky few months, he was doing well with Orduspor last season after getting them promoted in similar fashion as well. The Black Sea club sacked him mid-season replacing him with Hector Cuper and never looked back.

Kasımpaşa have received a lot of investment recently. Several Beşiktaş board members defected and joined the club, including multi-billionaire Mubariz Mansimov Gurbanoglu.

The newly promoted club have been enjoying their new found wealth making a string of ambitious transfers this months. Kasimpaşa have made a string of ambitious transfers this summer.

The Istanbul club signed Espanyol's in-form striker Kalu Uche for £1,320,000.

Swedish international keeper Andreas Isaksson was picked up on a free transfer. German international and Turkish Super League veteran Fabian Ernst was signed from Beşiktaş, Djalma Campos from Porto and Kafoumba Coulibaly from Nice.

Taking over at Kasımpaşa would mark Keane's first managerial role abroad, the former Irish internvation has never played or managed outside Britain and Ireland.

This should be fun. Billionaire owner presumably with strong opinions, language difficulties, hot weather, manager with ability to waste money and fall out with pretty much anyone, triggs no longer around to advise......

How can Keane or the Turks think this can go well? His transformation into the 90s Ronnie Whelan is almost complete.

Probably should have held out for the Chelsea job after Christmas.

Dispite my opinions of Roy Keane, I still think he has potential, but needs to be maybe mentored for a while under another suscessful manager, and not fergie. As that will end about as well as this new appointment.

More than likely leave camp and jet back home after being disgusted with their training facilities....

This should be a great laugh. Very interested to see how this pans out. Most likely going to be disastrous but you never know.

I am getting the horn at the thought of Gav Shels posting his rants about people walking around Dublin in the jerseys of some Turkish team we never heard of before, people looking out for their results, the flights to Istanbul every weekend full of barstoolers who have never seen the inside of Tolka, and so on :pac:

Maybe we'll even get to see Dustin as his assistant manager.

Well looks you've gotten in there before him with a clichéd post anyways.

For a fella who lost his marbles after a week on a Japanese island and went home, to move to Turkey now is a bit far fetched.

We can only hope there is a fly on the wall documentary crew nearby somewhere...

I reckon the only people who want Keane to go to Turkey more than Roy himself would be the Blackburn fans :pac:

Actually, given that he left them in the lurch after reneging on a gentlemans agreement with Dalglish to join them all those years ago, do you reckon they have long memories at Ewood?

if he was moaning about commuting to Sunderland how in the hell is he going to settle in Turkey. Bizarre.

Latest news is that he has delayed putting pen to paper in anticipation of being offered the Blackburn job. At least Triggs the dog won't have to go into quarantine for a year now, thanks be to god.

Quarantine is the least of Triggs's worry: ;)
