Cycling Adventures in Galway

I'm new to Galway city and would love to get out and discover Connemara and 'around' on my bike. Any suggestions on some good cycling routes? I dont mind the hills and love heading out for quite a few hours.

Also, if anyone's keen to join me (maybe this weekend?) for a spin please get in touch. It would be great to meet some other bike-lovers

get Discovery sheet 44 which covers the coastal region west of Casla, there's a couple of nice loops out there that are off the main Clifden road

Theres a nice route which is about half of what Seaneh highlighted.Head out the coast road to Spiddal and turn right just after the village and that road will take you to Moycullen from where you cycle back into the city.Sadly the Coast Road is'nt the safest for cyclists so be carefull.

If you have a mountain bike I'd be happy to bring you to derroura near oughterard. It's a fantastic trail.

Good way to meet fellow cyclist as its not a difficult route so is aimed more at the leisure cyclist with the short flat routes.
