Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    How do people do this?

Three people in my new office are home workers. I can't understand how anyone would want to do it or how they can not get distracted by things going on in the house.

I know if it was me I would slowly to go off my head and never get any work done.

Couldn't do it either - I need to separate my work environment from my living one, plus I need the social aspect. However, some people manage it grand. And some people even like it. I've a friend who's adamant he'll do it eventually - it really appeals to him, although he'd probably go in once or twice a week instead of being at home absolutely all the time. My brother does it a couple of days a week and is self-employed, so he has no option but to be disciplined. You'd get work done all right if you really had to. :)

Suits certain people very well. I know I would love it if I got it. Id have no problem shutting the door and getting work done.
No commute, no listening to moronic drivel everyday, no pain in the arse boss looking at you every morning. Heaven.

Doubt I'd bother getting up in the morning, so not really feasable for me!

I do a few days a week, roll out of bed at 7:50 .. put on pant's brush teeth, start work ..

4pm .. get up, put laptop to sleep .. day done ..

I dont do 5 days a week as it's way to easy to get lax and sit there watching midget porn all day long..

I have the option to work at home. Did all last week as I wasn't feel well.

I did start feeling a bit stir crazy by the end of the week, but it is definitely an amazing option to have.

If you are getting distracted by things about you then you must not have a very busy job :p

I'm working from home today and tomorrow.

I started working at half 7.. im still working and will be til about 11:30 due to a deployment.

Tomorrow I'll be working from about 8 until 6.

Working from home allows me to get a lot done, however I wouldnt want to do it a lot due to the boredom.

In my experience 10% of work-from-home employees are amazing.
90% of them do significantly less work than they'd do in the office.

This is why so few places allow telecommuting. And why the only office I've worked at that allowed it had to discontinue it.

All I know is if my work was watching porn at home, I'd be employee of the month easy! :P

Why even bother? Your office seems too formal.

I'm hoping there's casual Friday at least? :D
