    ive got the e74 error
    is it straightforward enough to fit the heatsinks
    i saw the us youtube vid but he's using nickels
    anyone got a better link

    Contrary to what 'you-tubers' will tell you, you won't really fix your console with a towel, or one of those repair kits. You need specialized equipment, & someone with the knowledge to use it. The chap I linked you to, has both :)

    Attempting a diy fix can often ruin your chances of having it fixed properly too

    this seems to be covered by a 3yr warranty

    i could be in luck

    i bought the console on 20-12-2010 so i should be covered til 12-2013

    when i registered it today it says my standard warranty expired on jan 15th 2010??

    what's that all about?

    Ring MS and email them your proof of purchase. They'll sort it out for you.

    i can't find invoice from 12/2010
    viking direct can't help either
    edit-rang them again

    i got a new xbox back from ms
    how would i identify the model?
    also do i have a new warranty now?

    help needed? was able to play xbox last week just with flickering white and black dots on the screen, looked like an relay old movie with the the flickering. few hours later ive got the e74 error with bottom right quadrant lit up.
    If I start up the xbox with out the hdmi I have no flashing red light, as soon as I attach the av cable or hdmi the flashing light returns...
    any idea's has anyone come across this problem before?

    na it's an old one got in 2007. ill just have to have a look at it
