Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I hear the farmer will be played by Kevin Bacon in the movie.

if it was an attempt to dispose of the body, it was a pretty ham-fisted attempt

Garner was a Vietnam war veteran who suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder, according to his brother, and the farm had been a "life-saver" for him.

One of the things this sort of humour does is highlight the dangers on farms. Without knowing the details, I can't help wondering if the slurry pit deaths could have been avoided had they realised the dangers involved.

There seem to be enough of them over the years to give farmers a hint that they should be a bit more careful when they go anywhere near them.

You've got a point. But when a story is bizarre enough, people lose their empathy, because they simply can't visualise themselves or their loved ones in this situation.

It's easier to imagine being the parents of that welsh girl than it is to imagine being eaten by 50 stone pigs.

But can we all dander over to the other thread and start ripping the piss?

First they came for the socialists...

Yes they are up there with uncovered water barrels, but it keeps happening.

An it's not because people are stupid , I reckon the main problem is that people panic when what should happen is that they should be thinking of the "safe cross code" or whatever there is for farm safety.

Police said they can't find anymore clues, but what would expect, the place was like a pigsty.

    A wise man once said......

"be wary of any man who keeps a pig farm. They will go through a body that weighs 200 pounds in about eight minutes. That means that a single pig can consume two pounds of uncooked flesh every minute. Hence the expression, "as greedy as a pig".

If you fancy running foul of the banhammer! People can imagine their daughter/niece/friend's kid in that situation, so laughing at missing Welsh girl might not be the best idea.
