Probably because Rafael has been first choice for awhile now and still would be if other options were fit.

It's not Evra's fault but he is completely past it. What is worrying is that Fergie picks him again and again despite error after error. Evra doesn't need competition he's lost a lot of pace and has lost all of his awareness and acceleration that made him a solid LB in his day.

He needs to be dropped for good. This isin't a phase, he simply isn't good enough anymore akin to Ryan Giggs.

Fergie used to be good at spotting when a player needs to go.

He can still have a roll at the club like Giggs but it should be a minuscule role as blunt as that may sound it's the best for the club.
