Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Tbh swap Kagawa in for Chico and I wouldn't be against this being our starting XI. This is as good as the midfield has looked all season, its amazing how much quicker and more fluid we look without Carrick.

I stuck a few quid on Rooney to score next.

United haven't had their penalty yet have they?

Rooney is so flat footed and slow, he really needs to go to fat camp

    Kenan

Aye I dont think its really a reflection on Ando. Its just from this point in the game he fades badly and I really think we need at least one wide player to give them something else to think about rather than just pack the centre of the pitch

Fletcher seems a bit further off the pace, I'd take him off.

Been really impressed with Anderson again. The midfield have done very well.

Wonder what they would do if kagawa started aswell tho. Could only strengthen the team. Midfield is poor again tonight.

    What???

this is as solid as midfield has looked all season IMO!

I suppose what I'm getting at in a convoluted way is that put ando in the centre or cleverly with kagawa playing amf and nani out wide and Valencia.

    Just my opinion :D

Apart from that our strike force is comming together nicely :)

I would worry about a big hole in front of the back 4 if we take Fletch off. Neither Ando or Clev have the discipline to sit and protect it.

No, he looks a good bit fitter than he did in August.

What a move by Rooney. Well defended against rvp tho

Ah Hernandez where were ya?! If he was on form he'd be knocking that over the line with his arse.

True but Cleverley has the makings of a player who can do a job there.

Kinda wish Hernandez went on loan. Lacking confidence. :(

Im not sure about that. I think his natural instincts to get forward, link the attacks is his major strength. Asking him to sit removes that strength.

He needs game time alright. Hard to break in with rvp and now Rooney starting to show form.

If that Cluj manager and Adrian Chiles meet we will see what Doc Brown was talking about.

I don't think he's got the ability to play high up the pitch tbh. His best play comes when he is further back and has a bit of time. We'll see. I certainly think Anderson and Cleverley together could do a job and I think the requirement of a holding player is not really suitable to our style. Carrick tries to play it and he just can't and often becuase one of our midfielders is so far back and we play with such width that we are left exposed in the middle. It's requirement is vastly overstated IMO.

Seriously - how in the name of the seven snotty orphans of Graney is DDG not playing every minute of every game. Just pulled off another points-saving save.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,772 ✭✭✭✭Paul Tergat

6 points from 6 but still things we need sorting

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,229 ✭✭✭✭J. Marston

Dull game but 6 points out of 6 is the main thing, we really should qualify now.

I dunno. Really think that he should be staring every game. Better keeper than linden guard in my opinion

Wasn't pretty but got the points. Bit like most games this season.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,347 ✭✭✭Quandary

Not a bad performance at all. Unnecessary nervy end to the game but comfortable for 90% of the match.

Fletcher had a good game aside from the very odd stray pass. Nice to have someone other than Carrick who can offer the back 4 a bit of protection.

If Fletcher gets back to anywhere near his former self he could be very important for us this season.

That's generally the way with Utd in away games in CL, particularly group games, has been for a good few seasons now.

Brilliant - Utd defence missing again!

The lucky charm strikes again. We go a goal down, Pepper comes out of nowhere to make a cutting quip, and we subsequently win the game!

I want to do a whip-round to send a "Pepper 64" United home shirt to this poster.

    Anyone? No?
