Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    He slapped the copper first

I thought the disabled wanted to be treated equally

The guy in the wheelchair should have been shot in the head, stripped naked, tied by his arms to the back of a cop car and paraded around town with the siren blazing while the cops wave and blow kisses at people, these yankee police are way too soft in my humble opinion.

Any particular reason you feel this way?

    Sarcasm meter needs a battery.

Brave cop, bet his mommy is proud.

He should have been the bigger man and walked away.

If the guy didn't have a uniform, would he be as condemned?

Doesn't matter if you're in a wheelchair, if you slap me you are getting lamped back.

More importantly he didn't have his hat on.

Technically speaking the man in the wheelchair was not hitting a cop. :)

Technically speaking. That's a myth. In the United States anyways. Unless some jurisdictions have a dress code that requires it. They're still a cop though and can enforce lie law with or without a hat.

Well over the top by the cop there. No excuse for what he did as he wasn't exactly in a dangerous or life threatening position.

He should have cuffed the wheelchair guy and charged him with assaulting an officer in the line of duty and have the judge deal with it.

Didn't pull no punches once he got the "green light" did he.

I know of wheelchair bound, acting erraticly particularly if it's alcoholism that literally put em there, via a skirmish or that but my dad frustratingly lashing out was in a 'can do this myself' manner and it's how the apparent motive for this attack appeared n should most certainly not have bn returned with such a vengeance. By a cop at that

Am I the only one who thinks the cop was pulling his head backwards by the hair and that is why the "walkingly challenged" guy hit him

Without the audio you don't get the full story.

The guy in the wheelchair could have been standing up for himself.

Probably tired of being pushed around.

  • Site Banned Posts: 563 ✭✭✭Wee Willy Harris

Even if, though. Its just a no-go regardless - cop really waded in and it doesn't look good.

There's audio in the link but not much to be heard.

Even if the guy didn't even need a chair, you don't know what kind of pathetic wind up merchant - still looks extremely bad.

    He slapped the copper first

I thought the disabled wanted to be treated equally
Which would be giving him a slap back, not battering him and knocking him out of his wheelchair.

RtdH fails to link this incident to Obama, FEMA, or the Jews!??!!! That's the real surprise in this thread.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,295 ✭✭✭✭Duggy747

He's a cop, he doesn't need to be throwing smacks around like that. He was trained on how to handle uncooperative people.

In another video with better audio you can hear him say to the girl (a nurse or whatever she is) "Shut up, back up, or I'll arrest you, too!"

Like every profession, you get dickheads. Even if the guy in the wheelchair is the biggest numpty on the planet, he didn't need to punch him in the head a few times.

Of course not. He's paid by the state to enforce the law professionally - and wears a uniform to signify that to the public.

People expect higher standards from law enforcement officers than they do from randomers.

The man in the wheelchair didn't really hit him in the face, it was more like a pat in the face.

Doesn't matter if you're in a wheelchair, if you slap me you are getting lamped back.

If you're pulling a guys neck back by the hair, which that police officer was doing, you're going to get a slap. Also, the amount of aggression that cop showed was well beyond over kill, regardless of the wheelchair.

That's nothing, recently a cop shot dead a one armed, one legged man in a wheelchair.

Hard to beat that for stupidity.

I don't think the officer should be allowed to do much of what he did to someone not in a wheelchair.

Plus difference in capacity means the officer had more options than in the person wasn't in a chair inasmuch as the officer needed only step backwards and he was safe from being hit again and gather his composition to see how to better arrest and detain the man.
