Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

In before an OP with pointless crests \o/

Massive game for City tonight, really is a must win and no doubt the knives will be (wrongly) out for Mancini with any other result.

Hope Dzeko starts given he's played against Dortmund plenty and has also been in good form.

Dortmund are an excellent side so really it should be a cracker*

    *Cue snorefest 0-0

He only needs to worry when the knives are of an arabian variety.

Good game in prospect tonight, will have an eye on this and the Porto v PSG game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,627 ✭✭✭Lawrence1895

But I want crests *goes in a huff* ;)

Realistically, it should be a win for Man City, since Borussia is miles away from last year's form, especially the defense.

Still hope for a draw though.

    3 - 0 to City.
Dortmund have sold their best talent.

Yea, it's a major shame that they will have to field the dregs of their squad tonight, mugs like Gotze, Reus, Hummels, Lewandovski, Piszczek, etc will have to do.

Reus was signed, not exactly a replacement but an exciting player in his own right. They'll be fine.

I still have difficulties to rate him. He scored twice against his old club last weekend alright, but that can't be compared to the Championsleague, different setting, imo

I hope City lose*. But hey, I am a united fan...

*I do confess to having an appreciation of Balotelli's talent and personality.

He is not that well liked in Germany, there was something during the EURO 2012 ;)

But we had a great time with the United supporters, when the two sides met in the Championsleague semis in 1997

Dortmund are a great sporting bet at 11/4... but that said I can still see City doing the business today. Might not be as easy as some might suggest, but they still have enough talent to get through the fire.

Look at Chelsea last night; they were never behind, but until the 80th minute when they went 2 up, the win never really looked totally secure. And Nordsjaelland are far inferior opposition to Dortmund as well.

It may take some time, but the superior teams usually turn the screw on the lesser teams as the game progresses.

Because Kagawa was really ripping it up in the CL for Dortmund???

The whole team was very poor last season, but that was more about inexperience, not about single players, imo

And another poster was surprised that rte have city on telly.
Same was said last night, its about ratings!

In RTE's perfect world Liverpool and ManU would qualify every year, get to the final every year and neatly slot their games into Tuesday's and Wednesdays.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,627 ✭✭✭Lawrence1895

The support is really fantastic, Borussia derserves something out of that match
