    Hey,

Just wondering what you guys are doing for responsive builds?

I've put out a few responsive designs with a few different frameworks, and lately I've moved away from bootstrap and over to Gumby.

I came across Gumby because I needed to focus on responsive design and 960 wasn't cutting it. However I've hit a fork in the road now where gumby isnt really cutting it for me anymore.

Media queries for different sized resolutions seem to be a problem for it. And while the site responds great on a laptop/desktop by resizing the window to whatever resolution and watching the site warp into a new layout, my latest site is not acting like the rest of them.

It's inevitable that this will be an issue in the future, and rather doing media queries based on screen resolution I think its better to focus on doing them by device or screen size.

What are you guys using at the moment for your sites? Would you be able to recommend anything that would be based on a grid system? Have to say, Im not a fan of bootstrap, but I could be orientated to give it another go if the feedback from you guys is positive.

    Cheers

The 'default' version looks nice alright. Just had a look at the page source and the structure of it looks good. Im in the middle of doing 2 projects now and its not actually too late to rebuild one of them with foundation rather than gumby...

Oh the temptation of it all...

Thanks for putting me on to that!

<edit>Very heavy and daunting css tho compared to gumby!</edit>

bootstrap is very easy if you want to learn about it. http://twitter.github.com/bootstrap/

I've used both Bootstrap and Foundation a number of times, I'm definitely a fan of Foundation, its really nice to use, and has become my default framework without a doubt.

FYI, if you need to support IE7 you'll need to stick with Bootstrap as the latest version of Foundation doesnt support it (you can still download an older version that does though)

I've used bootstrap a few times now and it just doesnt do it for me anymore. seems messy or something? Could just be me tho.

The stuff thats in foundation seems as meaty as bootstrap, a little harder to configure and style, but the grid system is solid and simple, which is the key selling point for me.

Foundation is most definitely my new framework for the foreseeable future! I would rank gumby above bootstrap right now also.

I tend to use http://semantic.gs, basic & minimal, I dont like all the superfluous junk that gets thrown into other frameworks. The only thing I recommend doing is changing the reset.less.
