Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Let's just say you won a voucher for a free meal on TodayFM or something.
The voucher is for two to a maximum of 100euro and includes a complimentary glass of wine. The rest of the drinks will cost you though, excluding coffees.

    Veal, Mash, Veg

    Creme Brulee

Now go home and cook your dinner

I'm in Yamamori Japanese restaruant in Dublin, beef Teriyaki and a coke. I also love a good old traditional roast beef in a pub such as O'Neills of Suffolk St, also with a coke or club orange. Though I like a few pints I never drink beer when eating, I find the alcohol taste takes away from the food. As you can see, I'm a man who likes his food :)

Love to order Buffalo Wings but you just can't get good wings here like you can in the States. :(
Favourite restaurant here in the Port House - loads of different Tapas dishes including their Chorizo and their meatballs washed down with some Pinot Noir.

If in the US - any Ruth's Chris steakhouse - a big feck off Sirloin!

"Hello Sir/Madam, what will you have today?"

"I would like the crushed hopes and dreams of a college drop-out."

"And what sauce would you like?"

"The anguished wail of an aborted foetus."

    "And for the main course?"

"The screams and lamentations of a thousand souls in hell."

    "All right, and to drink?"

    "Just a coke, please."

    Something goats cheesey to start;
    Medium cooked fillet steak with creamy mash and veggies;
Something chocolatey and rich for dessert - like warm brownie or chocolate fudge cake with ice cream.
Glass of merlot and a pint of coke on the side.

That was actually what I got for my graduation dinner. Best day of my life.

Poppadoms with lime pickle, chopped red onion and mint sauce for nibbles.

    Veg samosa's for starters.

Chicken or lamb Saag (medium please, I like very hot/spicy grub, but saag is best served medium) with pilau rice, garlic onion and corriander naan bread.

Ice cold cobra beer or kingfisher beer to wash it down.

I've tried lots of ethnic foods in my time, no cooking style compares to Indian though.
    Its just too dam tasty!

    Agreed.

Something blue cheesy then, maybe steak or pasta.

    Fruity dessert, maybe parfait.

The juiciest melon they have, smothered in orange slices and berries,
    Steak, vegetables and potatoes,
    A bowl of apple crumble,
And a slice of coffee cake to finish.

Actually my mother makes this stuff the nicest so I won't bother with the restaurant :pac:

In the Eastern Balti House in Monaghan (one of the best restaurants in the world btw!)

    Poppadoms and the dips

Mixed veggie platter (samosas, onion bhajis, pakoras)

2 side portions: Aloo Saag and Tarka Dhal

    Corriander Nan

No dessert coz am not really a fan of them and would be bursting from the above!

Washed down with a few glasses of Chateauneuf-du-Pape or Fluerie wine.

In the Main Street Station Garden Buffet in Las Vegas:

Everything that doesnt have meat in it washed down with loads of root beer and followed by keylime pie. Nom

Delicious chowder and wholemeal bread for starter, failing that a seafood bake.

Good quality T-Bone steak (fillet and sirloin, heaven) wrapped in bacon (food of the gods}, saute onions, champ and some veg. Failing that the best salmon money can buy.

Sticky chocolate fudge cake with toffee ice cream, failing that, good old 70's processed arctic roll, it's a swiss roll except with ice cream instead of that artificial stuff!

    Baileys coffee to round off.

Okay setting the scene, I would be in Darwins on Aungier Street, pre drink of a fiver Kir Royale just across the road in the Capital, full

Starter : French Onion Soup which is just devine,
Main Course : Surf n Turf , mash and spinach with a lovely Malbec ( if not surf n turf I will go a medium rare Striploin with lots mushrooms, mash and Spinach and a Pinot Noir)
Desert : Normally too fully so would probably just go for a raspberry sorbet or if there was any room left a Tiramsu with an espresso martini
Jameson Gold or a Redbreast to finish,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,235 ✭✭✭✭Cee-Jay-Cee

Chippen and chicks and a ciet doke.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 43,311 ✭✭✭✭K-9

    Tiramsu

Ah I forgot, so hard to get right but when it happens, bliss.
