Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Really not looking forward to this. Worst Dundalk side in 10 years (when we last won the cup.

Really not looking forward to this, Best Pats side in 20 years.

    Stupid cup anyway

Dundalk have lost their last seven league games in a row. Conceding 21 goals and scoring just three. Our best striker Mark Griffin is suspended for the game and our opponents St Pats are unbeaten in ten games.

All of the above points to one inevitable result. A narrow 1-0 win for the super Lilywhites with Derek Foran forming a one man barricade to repel the plucky Dubliners.

Think Pats have 700 tickets so there should be 1500+ at the game for the first time in ages. Wonder if teen sensation Bob McKenna will get his chance.

    Derry v Shels.

Hopefully we can pinch a win to lift the gloom around the Brandywell, but I'd say its a 50/50 gam.e

Our home form has been pretty poor this season, and I think we would have more chance of making the final if we were away from home.

Fingers crossed. Would love a wee trip to the Aviva.

In the event of a draw when are these replayed?

    Wednesday.

Should be a very even game in the Brandywell with Philly Hughes being the difference between the sides.

Whoever wins the final will be in the Europa League next season, am I right?

For some reason, I think, it will be draw at the Brandywell. The Bar in Tolka attracts me in a certain way :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,080 ✭✭✭✭NIMAN

Yeah I think Europa League. And maybe Setanta entry too if I'm not mistaken?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,205 ✭✭✭Gringo180

Pats have only won the cup twice in there history, now theres a stat that shocks me:eek:

Yep, and if Pat's win it, 4th in the league gets into Europa League as well.

While I'm a Rovers man and a Pats win will keep our hopes of Europe alive, in my heart I'd like to see Dundalk win the Cup.

    21/25

Confident about our chances for Sunday but not overly so.

PP only give 23/10, but never mind. I don't think, I wasted that Fiver ;)

    I think that's a good price anyway

Think we have the ability to do it on Sunday but whether we actually do it is another matter.
Could of said that about nearly every game this season mind.

Not long now. Hopefully Pats can win so I can go to Lansdowne Road and be tortured again when we lose.

6 defeats and a draw in finals since the last time we won. An atrocious statistic.

    Buzzing for later.

Dundalk are one the worst LOI sides I've seen, and we're pretty good. Wonder how we'll lose it tho :(

Same way you lost to us in Richmond a couple of months back maybe. We may be awful but we have a chance today.

Prepare yourself for disappointment. The second most successful cup team in the country are looking for number ten.

Shels Dundalk would be hilarious in the final. Two equally awful teams going for it in front of a crowd of five or so thousand.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,424 ✭✭✭✭The_Kew_Tour

Shels and Pats to get to final for me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,056 ✭✭✭applehunter

Dundalk are poor team. Expect a comfortable Pats win there.

Derry game is close one but always fancy Derry at home.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,379 ✭✭✭✭Oat23

Hopefully Pats don't win it and Shams will be without European football.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,508 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Crinklewood

    Derry:-

Doherty, McCaffrey, Molloy, Greacen, McEleney, Deery, McDaid, McEleney, Patterson, McLaughlin, Madden

    Shelbourne:-

Bennion, Boyle, Paisley, Cronin, Cassidy, Hughes, Dawson, Kavanagh, S Byrne, P Byrne, Ryan.

    ___

To those who don`t watch our own league, look out for Philly Hughes ( Shelbourne ). He may be rather large, but his quality is bigger than his size.

Any reason why these games are Ireland Only on RTE.ie?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 41,926 ✭✭✭✭_blank_

    Because RTE are fcking shíte.

    Fine pending.

Jesus, free header there for Shels from a corner.

the commentators are correct, long high balls in from Derry are being eaten up by the Shels defence.

We looking better as an attacking team, least we looking to play ball.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 41,926 ✭✭✭✭_blank_

    HT 0-1 still.

Looking good, if we can shut Derry out for the next 45 as well as we have for the first half we won't really need to do much more.

Pat Dolan talks some amount of tripe!

    1-1 McDaid.

    Lovely goal, shambolic defending though.

    Lovely goal,

    lol

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,086 ✭✭✭markc1184

Thought Bennion should have done a lot better there.

If Shels played with the intensity they did in the 2nd half on Monday night they'd have this game wrapped up by now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,508 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Crinklewood

Derry should have scored there, poor decision making.

    Great save from Bennion.

    Sub booked for "audible obscenity".

    Fúck off ref.

Conan Byrne on now for Casso.

    Hmmmm

Wont do him any harm seeing as though he is thick enough to play for shels

We take Derry back to Tolka on Wednesday, very doable, now hopefully Dundalk do the biz against SPA.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,296 ✭✭✭✭gimmick

Glad to see the draw there. Hopefully Shells will be that bit more tired before we play them on Saturday.
