Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Landlord looking for rent book

    Could anyone shed light on this situation for me. I moved out under 'difficult' circumstances a few months back, due to falling out over the price of rent and fuel. But in the past week the landlord has gotten on to me, looking for my rent book from me, to do his taxes.

    I was under the illusion that the rent book belonged to me, as I'll need it myself to claim back the tax from Revenue. Surely the landlord would have had their own record of it?

    Offer a photocopy of the relevant information. Do not hand over the original rent book. Unless it is stated in the lease of in the book itself that the rent book remains the property of the landlord then it is yours.

    A photocopy should suffice- unless the Landlord gets audited, in which case the original will have to be furnished. The deadline for the landlord submitting his 2011 return is rapidly approaching- and if you file late, alongside the penalties- your risk of being audited shoots up through the roof- so I'd seriously advise getting the photocopies to him ASAP (and don't loose the originals!!!)
