    Hi People

Just looking for some information here from anyone that has had experiences in running or otherwise in a poker league. I have been wondering why there is no county poker league in any of the counties in Ireland. Maybe there is in some but I think a county poker league would be very good. As with the norm, there could be weekly tournament held in diffrent pubs or venues around a county with individual prize money on each night - At the end of the league the players from each venue with most points earned qualify for the county finals. Has there ever been anything like this run? Would this work?

It could be ran as a singles event or even a pub team event

Can anyone shed any light on this or something else similar you know of?

Hi There , i know of 2 leagues which i have personally played in. The first which was ran by 3 seperate poker promoters in different venues with a grand prize of 8000 at the end .. you could contact D2 casino in Dublin City centre or Dublin poker nights who may be able to help point you in the right direction. The current league im in is a 3000 guaranteed league with one promoter over approx 4 or 5 different venues which is very popular. i do agree tho that if there was something like a grand final for the county etc ... even moving on to a country final that would be great , would created big prize pools for very little cost to the players!! get on it!!! :O)

I would be very interested in running this along with a few others. I ran a game briefly (as the business wasn't there) in a pub close to home. I have the tables, chips, the poker clock and the dealers but now I need venues that would be willing to have a game there but also would be willing to promote the game. I have plenty of experience in running games and have just finished working in a casino where I was acting TD for the past number of months but i'm keen to return to the pub poker scene. If you know anywhere that would be interested in hosting a game let me know. I think an inter-county championship would be very interesting and could create a massive league final at very little cost to people. Its definately worth considering.

Go around to pubs yourself and speak to or drop in a letter for the manager explaining that your league will bring people to their pub and increase business. Do up some posters and stick on somewhere in the pub and another above the urinal.

Lots of pubs will do this but if you are coming on to boards.ie to ask this you aren't going to organise this.

    Hey guys,

I have set up a new €50 Double Chance game in Bewleys Hotel, Newlands Cross, commencing this Friday (23/11/12) and running every Friday thereafter. There will be a tournament league commencing on the night too.
Also, I have a meeting tomorrow with another hotel and hopefully set a game up there too.

The game on Friday has an 8pm Reg time for an 8:30pm sharp start time. 6k starting stack + 1k earlybird available to all those reg'd and paid or in their seat prior to the start time. You can take your further 6k anytime after the first hand up until the first break. The blinds will be 15 mins for the first 6 levels, break, and 18 min levels thereafter.

If anybody is interested please let me know.

    Thank you,
    Ray
