Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Still think its way too offensive and will leave us exposed in the centre

    Where's nani? Valencia on bench :)

    Yes, yes it is :pac: money being put on a goalfest right now.

    I'll take it there is some truth to all the recent Nani rumours then. Not even in the squad.

    I think Newcastle's defense is so poor today, they'll really struggle to contain that attack.

    maybe so but we have to get through their midfield to get at the back line. may struggle for posession too. clev is going to have to be really disciplined imo

    Cleverley, Welbeck, Rooney, Kagawa, Van Persie

    Think Newcastle might be in for a pasting with that quintet of attacking players! :)

    Anyone know what the starting team for United is? :pac:

    Ferguson at LB... Interesting. The chap is lightning quick. The right side looks decent though. Santon and HBA attacking from the same side. Interesting.

    We have no width though! Both sides cramping the middle, could be an awful game

    Wonder if Fergie will play 4-3-3 with that line up?

    I presumed it would be 4-4-2/1-1 but maybe not?

    Maybe Rooney will play as Midfield 3 with Kagawa, Welbeck, RVP as attacking trio.

    I presume it's going to be a 4-2-3-1 with Rooney on the left and Welbeck on the right, and a lot of rotating between the front 4

    Vote of confidence from Fergie in De Gea today. His main issues have been handling aerial threats. Ba & Cisse will give a tough test.

    No width in the side,similar to the League Cup game at OT. Carrick and Cleverley don't have a good understanding with each other. If we win this game it has to come down to how Rooney, Kagawa and Cleverley link up.

    Cleverley needs a big game

    i hope its not the case. think we are trying to cram in too many attackers into our starting lineup

    Wasn't far off with my 4-0-6 formation,it's more like 4-1-5 with all the attack minded players we have out there today.

    Would seriously like some clarification on this Nani issue.

    Doesn't work for Barca and Real at all :P

    Im sure you werent making a direct comparison but they have players much better at keeping possession .

    Anyhoo, its an exciting lineup

    Thats poor from Utd, they wont win playing like that!

    Actually just spotted Perch at centre-half, that could be promising for United! Thought Colocini and Taylor were back from injury but must have had set-backs during the week.

    Ah but playing Cleverly, Welbeck, Rooney and Kags should sort out the possession woes, all very good passers.

    I'm delighted De Gea starts.

    Doubtful ferguson will actually play at LB.

    Likely to be, at least in my book:

    Harper;
    Perch, Williamson, Santon,
    Ferguson;
    Ben Arfa, Tiote,

    Cabaye, Gutierrez (c);
    Ba, Cisse

    if that shape makes any sense at all :pac:

    Only time will tell.

    We're going to need absolutely massive performances from Cleverley and Welbeck if we're going to get anything out of this.

    Hope Fergie has a good game, two assists and a goal would do nicely.

    Maybe, winning it back might be another issue. Think im just quite pessimistic at the moment

    also, cant see any logic in welbeck playing this game alongside the other front 3..?

    +1
    He dealt with tiote well in the League Cup and adds that battling element to the midfield.

    Evra and De Gea in the tunnel talking there:

    Evra " come and catch the crosses David"

    De Gea " stop the ****ing crosses coming in!"

    Bloody hell Rafael!

    Rafael will have to change his game a bit to accommodate not having an out and out winger in front of him.
