Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Brad Friedel will finally miss a premier league game after 320 consecutive PL games and a run that started back in April 2004. Can't see that ever being beaten. Don't know why AVB dropped him either.

Wonder if Friedel will pull a Lampard on AVB.

    Lloris must of been moaning.

Harsh on Friedel if hes not injured.

    Because Lloris is better?

Lloris' singning was one of the most stupid signings of the summer. Why have 2 keepers who both expect to in the starting 11 every game in your squad. It was always gonna cause problems.

Having €15million sitting on the bench may have something to do with it. With Friedel in such good form it was a bit of a daft signing imo.

Wasn't it rumoured that avb didn't want the signing really and it was that levy guy?

Friedal will retire soon and Lloris one hell of a good keeper to pass up.

I hope Friedel is pissed off enough to finish his career back at Anfield

Similar happened at QPR, but even more stupid. They sign Green and then
    Cesar a few weeks later.

    Maybe AVB is rotating goalkeepers?

What about Man Utd???? Both expect to start every game.

This is meant to be friedels last season so it makes sense that Lloris is phased in.

Friedel has been a great goalkeeper for a very long time. Someone who really took a leap forward in terms of performances and consistency as he got a bit older too.

All that said, I think Spurs are obliged to bring Lloris into the fold. There is no long term with Freidel at this stage.

Lloris is overrated and the only advantage he has on Friedel is his age at the moment. Lloris is poor at dealing with high balls too. If its not an injury then AVB has shot himself in the foot, again!

I'm a big fan of Friedel (I think he's still one of the best in the prem atm) but you don't buy a goalkeeper like Lloris to keep him on the bench. I imagine AVB has been looking to offload the American one way or another since he took charge?

Lloris playing very well here. No one can argue with Brad's shot stopping but his distribution isn't as good as Hugo's and he isn't fast enough to play the "sweeper keeper" role that goes along with playing the high defensive line.

Obviously feel sorry for Brad, he's a great professional but Lloris seems to be vindicating AVB so far.

Lloris was good today, his distribution is a lot better than Brads and like what was said above, Lloris is a lot quicker cutting of short balls as was evident today, i near choked on my bacon roll reading an earlier post that Lloris was "the most stupid signing of the summer"... Really?

Green is a horrendous keeper. Can't compare the two cases.

eh buying a 25 year old world class keeper is a stupid signing??? The guy is quality and is already a much better keeper than Brad. Brad is a solid and unspectacular keeper but he has weaknesses. He doesnt command his area well, is slow to come for crosses, is constantly rooted to his line and his distribution is woeful. He is also 41 years old so I think its fair to say his career is coming to an end. Lloris imo was one of the signings of the summer and will turn out to be one the the PL's best keepers in the years to come.

    Some record though, incredible achievement.

Phil Neal made 365 consecutive appearances for Liverpool in the old First Division at Full Back from 1974 to 1983.

A fine achievement by Friedel, but not a Top Flight Record. Football did exist before 1992!

They told Green he could leave in January! Hughes hasn't a clue!
