old NTL box

    We are still using an old NTL box, should we have been upgraded by now? We have lost some of the channels from it.

    They'll upgrade you if you ask, but you'll have to pay the self-install fee. The channels are the same on both platforms, but there is different software (the jury is out as to whether it is better software, but it has a 7 day EPG) on the UPC boxes, but more importantly, On-Demand only works with UPC boxes, not with NTL ones. The latter alone may be enough to entice you to pay the fee.

    I was chatting to UPC on their website, they want €45 for a box not sure if that's the recording one. Do they have different boxes?

    In UPC jargon the recording box is called a Digital+

    The '+' indicates it can record so it has a hard drive inside.
