6-8 lan port modem router?

Im in the market for a new modem router since the Eircom one is rubbish with very poor wifi etc. I just dont have any spare lan ports which I want for a home plug, so im hoping to purchase maybe a 6-8 port one. Any suggestions?

Im wondering is this the right direction. Would I be better with buying just a better modem router and maybe a switch or a hub?

Such a modem router doesnt exist as far as i know..

Not really, I have a couple I like 3Com personally and use these regularly but I also have one I picked up for a tenner somewhere.
Switches are pretty much commodity items these days

One nice feature is that it shuts down ports that have no cables attached, reducing power consumption and another is that is has auto negotiation; no need for crossover cables / uplink ports etc.
