Hidden Agenda and u:mack welcome precocious producer Kwes (WARP Records) to the Button factory on Saturday the 13th of October. Growing up in a South London household where Rick James was king served as an incidental masterclass in the art of writing and producing great pop songs. Kwes put this education to work from an early age collaborating with peers such as The XX, Damon Albarn, Jack Penate, Leanne La Havas, Eliza Doolittle, Joe Goddard, Speech Debelle, Micachu and Ghostpoet.

    Kwes (Warp, UK) [Live]
    Lemonada (IRE) [Dj Set]

    The Button Factory
    Saturday October 13th
    Doors 11pm
Tickets €10 including booking fee via Ticketmaster

Despite releasing his debut EP "No Need To Run" on Young Turks/XL in 2010, the 2011 Red Bull Music Academy inductee has consciously taken a backseat as his peers have gone on to 'bigger things', admitting that he doesn't like being the centre of attention in a recent interview with The Guardian, but this year the tide has begun to turn; as The Guardian put it, "Some musicians will go to any lengths to get exposure; others attract attention almost in spite of themselves, because their talent is hard to hide."

This aforementioned change has brought with it a place on the roster of WARP records, production duties on Bobby Womack's 2012 release 'The Bravest Man In The Universe', composition duties of 'Opera Di Peroni', a celebrated performance at this year's Great Escape festival, and the release of critically acclaimed solo EP 'Meantime', which includes 'Bashful', his most popular solo track to date.

Kwes has got synaesthesia, which has manifested itself in an ability to visualise sound in the form of colours. He speaks openly about the condition and claims it has been the root of much of his work.

His live set will be preceded by a dj set from Lemonada, who on the back of a wild show at Electric Picnic is not to be missed.
