Any advice on where to buy on in the Sydney area? I have no car so would need to get it delivered, was hoping to go look at some tomorrow.

I have a small enough balcony but I am wondering if there is any etiquette to cooking these things when you have so many neighbouring balconies all around you on other floors?

What is the best type of one to go for, don't really have much of a budget in mind as I am not sure what they cost and the associated costs that would go with one.

We have Webber gas barbeque and it is excellent. Easy to use, clean and foolproof really.

They are not cheapest but they are streets ahead of cheapo crap ones you'll see in Kmart etc.

Charcoal grills will obviously add more flavour but hassle of setting up, cleaning makes them too much hassle for everyday use IMO.

We got ours in barbeque plus but think they only have stores in Melbourne.

Apoligies for jumping into your thread...

But havent had much experience with BBQs over here if your attending one im assuming you hand over a few quid for the food or is it expected that the host pays for all the food or what way does it work?!

    Yeah, just split the costs

@Digi: Get a weber. Which one deiendson hiw mych you want to spend. but they are all worth the price imo.
Balcony BBQs are fine. Gas BBQs don't create much smoke, and the hood down helps too.

@Karl: it depends. I went to a small one last week where I brought my own burgers. I'll be having one in a few weeks were ill supply a decent amount of food.

The only consisltant rule is BYOB

Jaysus, I must have got mine during a sale. I think we paid $259 for it without the stand.

    $289 here:

    Rays Outdoors

Rays outdoors or barbecues galore or check a Bunnings if you're near one though they tend to have the big stuff.
There is a big range in the weber

    Hence the price range.
Realistically, how many people are you feeding regularly with this BBQ ?
Would think the $289 should be sufficient for small balcony.

And in the 7 yrs I've been here, it's BYO meat and beer if you intend drinking a few. There's always leftovers so no need to bring heaps. Host usually supplies bread and salads but sometimes asks you to bring a plate (meaning salad/coleslaw etc)

    That's not the same BBQ.
Yours is a Baby Q. $289 is the RPP on the website.

Ah yeah, it's different model altogether. Baby Q is a grand size though. Perfect for a balcony on a unit.
