Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

For some reason I think he will land in Alaska.

I also think part of him will land in Canada, and possibly other parts landing in the Caribbean.

At this rate of climb, about another 30 minutes to go - but it might be less, since the rate of climb has increased a lot in the 15 minutes I've been watching.

edit: it's decreasing again, down from almost 1200 ft/min to less than 700 ft/min. Time to lose more ballast?

This is going to be a really silly question, but why can't you see any stars at that height? I mean, when the camera was looking upward.

Have they mentioned what happens if he has a problem and can't jump? Is there some way to abort, or is he committed to jumping now now matter what?

You don't get it cos it wasn't funny! Never mind, just watch the video.
Saw that Joe Kittenger one in a BBC documentary ages ago. Absolutely mental.

The capsule is coming back down using a parachute so I guess he could always come back down that way.

Is his visor problem going to be an issue for the jump ? Could that mean that he has to abort ?

God, I hope the visor steaming up is not a problem. I know with some of the first NASA astronauts it was a major issue while trying to do a space walk.

This stream works without any issues including the camera from the capsule, yet Setanta can't manage to properly show a soccer match from across the Irish sea.

Joe Kittenger had a hole in his glove and blood pooled in his hand. He never mentioned it to anyone incase they aborted the jump.

Also, the site has a live data feed, so if you want to conserve your bandwidth, you can keep an eye on the altitude without needing the live video feed.
